A Quick Walk in Paris

In May 2014 I stayed in London for work and got to explore a bit which I shared in my most recent posts. Since I was so close to Paris (literally just a 2 hour tunnel ride away) I just had to go. I only got to spend the weekend in Paris, but it was well worth the extra effort.

I stayed in a cute little hotel room across from The Louvre. I didn’t tour the Louvre this time, but I did tour Musée d’Orsay because they were featuring original Vincent van Gogh paintings that I really wanted to check out. You can’t see that kind of stuff in the states. It’s amazing how much original artwork that resides in Europe. Even just walking down the street makes you feel like you are in an outdoor art gallery because of the intricate architecture of every building. It was a bit difficult for me to get around because #1 everything was in French and #2 because every building looked like it was a palace. I was looked for the museum and everyone told me “oh you will know when you see it” – which is entirely untrue. I would see a building with amazing architecture and intricate details and thought to myself “this must be it!”, oh no its just a dry cleaners.

Here are a few pictures of The Louvre from the outside…

I surprisingly didnt have my camera out too often during my Paris trip. I was a little hesitant to look too much like a tourist since I was alone. I also just wanted to soak it all in by being in the moment. Here are a few shots I did get while exploring the streets of Paris…

IMG_4856 IMG_4857 IMG_4858 IMG_4864 IMG_4866I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, but I didn’t get a chance to go up to the top – the line was way too long. Perhaps next time when I bring my hubby.

On my next post I will share my two favorite shops I visited in Paris.

Au revoir!
